A brief Overview of Alexandre Gama and His Advertising Agency, Neogama
The Brazilian advertising sector has exceptional professionals. One that stands out is Alexandre Gama. He is the founder of Neogama, an award winning agency in the country. Gama and his firm have earned a total of 23 Lions and 2 Golden Lions in the Cannes festivals. Below is a quick overview of his career and achievements.
After finishing his degree in advertising and communication, Alexandre Gama joined Standard Ogilvy & Mather as a copywriter and a creative. His exceptional work saw him join DM9 as the Director of Creative. Later he became the CEO of Young & Rubican before leaving the firm to create Neogama in 1999.
In 1999, Neogama became the first Brazilian agency to win a Lion at the Cannes festival. In 2002, Meio e Mensagem newspaper named it the Agency of the Year. As a result, it became the youngest agency ever to receive the award. In 2003, it won two Golden Lions at the Cannes Festival and again was the first Brazilian advertisement company to achieve that.
From 2002 to 2016, Neogama operated as a joint venture with BBH, an agency based in London. Today Alexandre Gama and his company are back to the industry as an independent agency. It is no doubt he will start receiving awards soon.
