Stars Shine at 2012 Golden Globes

The biggest stars in Hollywood were out in full force on Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. Funnyman Ricky Gervais hosted the 69th annual show and kept the audience on the edge of their seats with his raw jokes and sarcastic commentary.
As for the winners, the big names took the biggest prizes. Actress Meryl Streep took home her 8th Golden Globe, winning Best Actress for her role in “The Iron Lady”. Streep had to be bleeped when she realized that she forgot her glasses and had to recite her speech from memory.
Fellow Hollywood alum, George Clooney won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for his role in “The Descendants”. Clooney also took the stage with the cast of “The Descendants” to accept the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama.
Surprisingly to some, the black and white silent film, “The Artist” was the big winner of the night taking home 3 Golden Globes.
Actress Michelle Williams won the award for Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in “My Week With Marilyn.” Williams was honored to receive the same award Marilyn Monroe once received and thanked her daughter for letting her practice her Marilyn voice during bedtime stories.
